Optimal Nutrition from A to Z

Optimal nutrition is easy to remember. It's as easy as ABC!

Always drink water first (before any other beverage).
Be purposeful with eating 5-9 servings of fruits or veggies per day.
Connect how you feel to what you eat. If you feel poorly, maybe you are eating too many preservative, carbs or chemicals.
Don't weigh yourself every day. Maybe once a week. Monthly is better.
Eat fish 2-3 times per week and take a good fish oil...it improves heart health and memory.
Focus on what you SHOULD eat, not on what you "can't have".
Gluten is probably not your friend. Try not eating it and see how you feel.
Have faith in yourself and in the process.
If you mess up, just get back on the wagon and keep going!
Just say no to sugar.
Keto eating is great for weight loss.
Limit coffee to 2 cups or less per day.
Meet with a nutritionist for guidance, help and support!
Never drink diet coke or anything with sucralose or aspartame. It's sugar free but it causes gut issues and weight gain.
Optimal health is about optimal food choices. Make the best choices you can.
Protect your heart by eating foods high in magnesium like brown rice, Brazil nuts and black beans.
Quiet time every day can lower your stress level and reduce stress eating.
Replenish good bacteria; take a good probiotic.
Some supplements are well made and can help general health, especially gut health.
Take time every week to prepare fresh vegetables and fruit servings...you will be more likely to eat it.
Understand that plant based is different than vegan. Plant based is eating mostly plants. This lowers cancer risk.
Vegan eating is great for cancer and heart disease. Raw vegan is even better.
Work fiber into your diet by eating plenty of fruits and veggies.
Xylitol is a safe and natural sweetener. Try it! Stevia is good too.
You are what you eat. Eat a plant based diet full of bright colors and you will live a healthy, vibrant life!
Zoodles!! Replace regular pasta with zoodles for a fresh, low carb, nutrient rich pasta salad side dish!

Now you know your nutrition ABC's. Congrats! What would you add?
