Help for the Struggle

How are you doing? Are you struggling silently? Are you low on energy? Tummy hurting? Taking pain reliever too often for joints or headaches? Do you have allergies? Brain fog? Are you battling IBS, gas, constipation or indigestion? Lots of people are battling these issues very quietly, if not silently. But you know me. I just HAVE to talk about it. I want to help.

I've been there on almost all of these issues. Just a few years ago I was getting headaches nearly every day. I was struggling with low energy...daily. I was battling brain fog daily. I didn't work out. I went to bed early. I often cried myself to sleep with a heating pad while trying to relieve tension in my shoulders and neck. Needless to say, I do not feel like that anymore!! I feel awesome. I have energy, mental fortitude, very few aches and pains and I hardly ever get sick!

I have great news. It's possible your issues could be dramatically reduced if not completely eliminated with foods. And you will still love the food you can eat!

It sounds hokey or overly simple, but sometimes our daily aches and pains are exacerbated by what we are eating. Too much gluten, dairy and sugar can be overly inflammatory and can cause pain, stomach issues and brain fog. Unhealthy fats and preservatives are often hiding in fast food and convenience foods. These toxins will build up in our bodies and eventually cause food allergies, increased pain, and sometimes can even cause cancer or heart disease.

Replacing inflammatory, acidic foods with alkaline, antioxidant rich fruits and vegetables can completely change your situation. Fruits and veggies have critical nutrients that your body may be crying out for.

Craving fatty fast food? You may need healthy fats like avocado, organic butter, nuts or coconut oil.

Craving sweets? You may need complex, nutrient rich carbs like sweet potato, brown rice, fruit or beans.

Whatever you are craving, there is probably a healthier version of it that you may actually need. It's all about making the healthier choices and feeding your body rather than feeding emotional element of the cravings.

It's hard to make these changes. I know that. You may need to reach out for help.

I truly believe that hiring a nutritionist is one of the smartest things you can do for yourself. Whether it's for your family, to better your career, to help fight an illness, or completely as self care, hiring a nutritionist can be a game changer.

Every part of your life gets better when you ask for help from a professional and focus on yourself getting healthier. A nutritionist (that's me!) is an expert in nutrition. I do not say that lightly. It's not because I love nutrition, which I do. It's not because I've read a few books on it. And I've probably read at least 20. It's because I've worked in holistic nutrition for about 10 years now, and I've helped hundreds of people lose weight, increase energy, boost their immune system and basically get their life back.

As a nutritionist I can can take a thorough history of your situation, consider the options, and recommend the best course of action going forward. A plan for "Getting healthy" isn't always the easiest thing to map out. I can teach you about optimal nutrition, help guide you through which foods to eat, which supplements will help the most, and how to balance that all out with real life.

Thees are some of the benefits of "getting healthy" that may motivate you.
  • You have more energy.
  • You feel GOOD. Not just ok.
  • You do more today, rather than putting it off.
  • You spend more time with your kids.
  • You make dinner now, rather than always ordering. You have the energy!
  • Oh, and the mental processing boost is insane.
  • You have the mental fortitude to think through your problems clearly. And the body energy to do something about it.
  • You have the mental fortitude to think about how much you love someone, and then express it
  • Your memory may improve.
  • You have the energy to workout. Then working out gives you another insane boost of energy.
  • Your hair may thicken and nails start to grow stronger and faster.
  • Skin issues subside.
  • You have the energy to work harder and smarter at work. Work becomes more like....a challenge you get paid to solve. You actually enjoy it.
  • Your headaches, body aches and illnesses are far more infrequent and take you by surprise, rather than being an every day event.
You may be thinking that "this is all great, but it requires me to change what I'm eating, which scares me". Yes, you are right. Working with a nutritionist gets such great results because we help you change your pattern of behavior so that you can get better results. So, if change is hard for you, why not reach out and ask for help? That's what I'm here for.
