What Does Terrain Mean?
When it comes to nutrition, you may be wondering what "terrain" is or means. The terrain is your body, and we want it to stay healthy, kind of like healthy soil. We want healthy soil so that we get a healthy apple tree and not weeds or rotten apples. A healthy terrain yields optimal health. So when you see Terrain Advocate, you can think of whole body health advocate or optimal health advocate. The Terrain Ten survey is a survey of 10 different areas of health. It specializes in these 10 areas that directly effect metabolic health and cancer risk, but it's also a very good survey of your over-all health status.
Terrain Nutrition (with Tressa!) is all about optimal nutrition to support a healthy terrain. It's me applying what I know about nutrition and healthy foods to these ten terrains. I used to just know which nutrients are in a banana, and when and how to eat it. After this metabolic training I can now tell you how that banana contributes to or detracts from metabolic health. The banana may only effect 1 or 2 terrains, but even just one food can bring your terrain closer to balance or tip the scales in the wrong direction. We each eat 10-20 different types of foods a day. What I know now is that each food choice effects our terrain balance, for better or worse. Every bite of food is an opportunity for optimal health or it can be taking a risk towards a cancer diagnosis. If you already have cancer, every bite of food is an opportunity to help or heal.
